difference with Magix Xtreme Photo & Graphic Designer?

Hi there,

I was wondering what the difference is between Xara Xtreme 3.2 (pro) and the Magix Xtreme Photo & Graphic Designer? I understand that the Xara product has software included called MAGIX Xtreme Photo Designer? Where's the difference between the 2?
I am particulary interested in something i miss in Xara now (have only the trial downloaded): pixel based selections.

Well one of the differences is the price.
So I doubt that this package contains the full xara Xreme version.
(Let alone the the pro version), for if this was so, it would be cheaper
just to buy the package from magix themselves.

dont quote me on this, cause I no expert. But I remember seeing a thread or two on this a while ago. I think the magix compilation is with xtreme not PRO.

I have magix photo designer 7 with my Extreme pro 3.2 CD version, it wasn't with the download version

xara should come with a version of magix photo designer (al least according to their website). But the question is which version?

Well this is the site I found, it also mentions templates.
Did we get templates on our CD`s? Or did they mean
the clipart galleries etc.?
Not really clear what version of Xara Xreme was on it.

I believe the MAGIX program has a few of the vector tools from Xara Xtreme but not the full features of the vector application.

The MAGIX application bundled with Xara Xtreme is the MAGIX Xtreme Photo Designer version 7.0.0.15

There are templates on the Xara Xtreme (and Pro) CDs. They are in the Clipart Gallery. Templates for cards, newsletters, business forms, calendars, CD labels and covers (inserts), etc.

ok, so i think i'll stick to Xara xtreme pro then. I am enjoying the trial now and will soon buy it!

I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that Xara intend in future that the non-pro versions of Xara be under the Magix brand, and the pro versions have the Xara brand. The non-pro Magix versions will offer upgrades to the pro versions. I think version 3.2 of Xara is the last time there will be a pro and non-pro version available under the Xara name (I might be wrong though). Come the next version, which I presume will be version 4 or so, the non-pro may probably be via Magix, and pro via Xara name.
