digital art help
I have been playing around with a fractal program and have seen beautiful digital art that I'd like to try my hand at.
I tried importing my fractal images into the layers gallery hoping to be able to add other fractal or images but the layers just cover each other up and you can't combine these images. What am I doing wrong here? How do digital artists get images transparent so they can combine them? Last edited by Egg Bramhill; 22 May 2007 at 12:43 PM. Reason: Original image was 900Kbs.

Try Bleach (additive) transparency which treats black as invisible. If you clone the image, the image gets more opaque but the black remains invisible.

The later versions of Apophysis will render to transparent. I was using Apo 2 with UF3. I haven't recovered those programs after a power problem.
You could make an nverted copy of the image and use bitmap transparency, too. Rich

IF you want to make beautiful fractal images, Get Apophysis and learn how to use modifier scripts on the output. My favorite is spiralize. see attached.

Wow. Thanks for all the help. I am planning on having fun with this tonight.
very cool fractal images attached. Instead of playing addictive computer games like normal people  , I'm addicted to 'spinning' the fractal wheel. If I can createsome digital art images with them, then so much the better!

Thought I'd share my first fractal designed with Apophysis.
I was using Chaoscope, but Apophysis is much better and I can export the images easily with transparent background. Thanks Mike for the link and the beautiful fractal images you included. I took it into Xara, put it on a black rectangle, duplicated and flipped it. Be careful if you try these fractal programs! They are rather addictive!  Rahmama
