Hi all, I have been trying to figure out how to fix this pic for a while using Xtreme and just cant get it. If you look at the pic, you will notice on the sides of the opening where the boxes are coming out of the machine, there is some paint that was chipped from employees. I am looking for a way to somehow match the solid color next to it and fill or paint over the bad spots. The image is bigger than I need for now, so I figured if I do it at this size, when I shrink it it will not be noticeable. I even tried it in Photoshop with no luck. Anyone know how I can do it?
Thanks for your time, Mike privatepratz@optonline.net Last edited by gwpriester; 09 October 2006 at 02:33 PM.. |

[I love those candies/breathmint things!!!]
I took the pic and drew a shape over the damaged area, then used the color picker to make it the needed blue, then used the transparency tool to make the edge between my added blue and the main pic disappear. I didn't add any texture... this too can be done. But it certainly looks better after just this simple adjustment.

You beat me to it Bob! But my method was slightly different.
I just created 2 shapes that covered the chipped areas (can't be too harsh on your employees--I'm sure you expect them to work super fast) and then applied Linear fills sampling the start and end colors with the eyedropper (colorpicker tool) in the Color Editor. I reduced the size of the 27" image to 650 pixels. PP if you do this on the actual image, then make a bitmap copy and reduce the copy the result should be perfect. All of you forgot to cover up the chipped paint reflection on the stainless feed tray.

And it's quite noticeable when pointed out too...
And how would you resolve that then? Andy |

Frank, Frank, Frank!
You missed the small circular thingy which I brought back. I had to use a 4-color fill for the reflection which was more complex than the reflecting shape. Now, here's a challenge, remove the yellow highlights from the celophane. Gary |

Thanks for all your support. I fixed it.
I will add it to the site in a few weeks when im done with the New Store. I am curious to see if anyone can get rid of the yellow glare? Thanks again to all that replied. Mike http://www.chowardcompany.com |

Mike...
I checked your website, and it looked really nice. Use of the mints for a background was clever. My suggestion is to leave the reflections on the cellophand wrappings of the boxes. We frequently work very hard to create reflections to create the appearance of glass or cellophane, and here you have it ready-made. The chipped paint, on the other hand, was another story. |
