Omega -- A few years back I did this tutorial for Gary Priester's XaraXone website. I think the tutorial might give some clues regarding your inquiry.
Good luck!
If it doesn't relate to what you are trying to do,please give more detail -- or better yet post an example.

You beat me to the punch Ross. I'm sure your tutorial is much more thorough and proper than this quickie ... but since I did it, here it is.
Omega,
I hope this is what you were talking about.
Hi Mr. Ed,
very nice mini-tut. the only thing I would add is to make sure the light source is coming from the same direction on both pics, and to feather the edges slightly to blend one pic with the other.
Great tutorial, Ross and Ed.
I had not seen that one at the Xaraxone before.
Is that a picture of Ed taking pictures in Oklahoma ?
OmegaXeroX.
I just posted some more files and links in the copy and paste thread that will aslo help you on this subject.

Here is a link to a recent Workbook tutorial for Dropping out a white background.
Sean Sedwards contributed a free plug-in filter 24-bit Mask that lets you create a mask (but only with images with a white background). You can import the image and the mask image into Xara and then apply transparency to drop out the white background. There are instructions for how to do this on the linked page.

Where is Sean Sedwards these days?
Bruce,
Yes ... that IS a picture of Ed taking pictures of Buffalo
John,
Very observant on the light source ... I was paying more attention to the CUTTING process than the PASTE-ING.
I learned about lighting the hard way... I sliced and diced a tree with morning sun down to the leaves, then posted it on a picture with afternoon sun... could never get that to work for years... Now I can, but it takes much too long to change the lighting (with Transparancies, for whoever is wondering). it is much easier just to make sure your lighting angle is close enough.
I wonder if this plugin would work for another color? Has anyone tried to tweak it for other than white?Originally Posted by gwpriester
