Just got this link from CNET and it looks like the US Government is going to be even more nosey:

    http://news.com.com/Your+ISP+as+Net+watchdog/2100-1028-...tag=ntop&tag=nl.e703

Get ready Europe it looks like it's going to happen there too. They say it's to find the bad guys but I think there is more to it than that!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

Life goes on but I'm a bit more frightened now!!

    All the best

As has been said by many, nothing is private anymore...and don't write anything in an email that you wouldn't mind seeing painted on the side of a barn for the world to read...
I'm sure they will do this tracking, and are probably already doing it.

I could rant on and on about such things...but that won't change it, I don't cast votes for anyone who supports these policies either, I didn't vote for Bush, I don't like any of the stuff going on with this administration -- but still it's going to be done.

What we can do = use our votes to send the messages we want heard and remove those who don't make the policies we agree with...and just try to be good to one another.

As in the lyrics of Crowded House, hey now,"Don't dream it's over." http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover."

This wasn't meant to be politcal John this is to warn those that may have been thinking what I was, and many are thinking, like our dear friend Maya!!

I agree with the article though < I think this was in someone's mind, probably long before Bush obtained office. No I chose the right words. Think about that last line. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

    All the best

Hope all is well with you John. I'm actually thinking about starting work on the Universal Being again. I think the coming of Xara X2 has me all giddy with excitment!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

    Hi Richard,

This is actually far less frightening than the fact that private companies have been tracking peoples internet activities for a long time. The current interest in spyware blockers and adware removers is about 15 years behind the people that use that sort of intrusive software to monitor where we go and what we say on the internet.

    Soquili,

I hear you... But sadly only a few people care about "freedom" or "freedom of speech" or even "privacy". Dumb people explain it away as - "I have nothing to hide" or "it doesn't concern me"... I can hear those shiny boots tapping along in a Prussian waltz... But what can you do? http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Other numbskull ideas that people dance along to is "Carnivore" (which is dismantled now... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif ) and the "Burn people at the stakes without a trial act" - or is it called the "Patriot Act" - can't remember now... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

    Tap-tap-tap... *sigh*
