Hello all! Gidg are you out there? It's been a while. I have been working in a few other apps recently (other than ZBrush exclusively)...most specifically C4D and Wings. This O.A.F. (Open Air Fighter) was completely modeled in Wings 3D. The terrain, lighting, materials, and rendering were done in C4D. I still have some more work to do...cockpit controls and detail, alter the seat a little, attach the shielding and put retractable landing gear on it. There are a few mesh problems that need to be corrected as well. Wings is super!

Hi Gidget!! Wings is great! And so is C4D!! I can't say I like one better than the other...I find that since I have both I use them to bolster the weaknesses in one another. In fact I have been using ZBrush, Wings and C4D in a regular workflow. ZBrush is great for deformations. I can be working on a model, export it and bring it into ZBrush, use the deformations commands in ZBrush to bend, skew, twist, etc, then export it back into Wings and continue modeling!! It is a great workflow especially since Wings does not have built in deformations commands. And of course C4D is super for the final rendering. The hypernurbs cage finishes it off just right!! And C4D has some really fine editing controls that can help with wayward polys...hole filling as an example...that Wings can not easily fix. All in all these three apps work exceptionally well together. They make for a very nice workflow.

And while I am at it here is another render of the vehicle above with different materials...there are no textures yet...I will be doing that as soon as I am done modeling it and have tackled the UVMap unwrapping et al.

That's an excellent design, very "organic" looking.

    Great stuff!
