I certainly understand the hesitance. I had to bite the bullet, so to speak, and went for it and I now I have a legal copy of PS7 and I've updated it so it's GOT to be on the up and up!!

Here is the PP forum thread. Scroll down and look for memeber TDolce:

It took about 2 weeks to wing it's way to me but you live in the UK so I'm not sure what the policy is or time frame. When you order it's really simple. You don't recieve this big fancy reciept, VIA email, but it's enough to know that you credit card is going to be charged. It was on the up and up for me and if Adobe admits that it's on the up and up then the guy is not going to go around ripping people off!! I would hope not!!

I look at it this way, opportunities like this only present them selves every once in a while and I'm glad I went for it!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Thanks for the reply but having gone through the motions of ordering I found the shipping etc was almost as much as the CD itself. I'm afraid that I dare not commit that much to buying software even if it is PS7. I know its still a good price even if it is nearly $92 but I'm afraid its more than I can realistically afford. I know the exchange rate for us in the UK is very good at present but I'm afraid that sadly, its a big no no.

    Again, thanks for your help.

The US Postal Service has a very reasonable rate for shipping to the UK. I sent a disc of images to a publisher in London and I think it cost under $10.00 US. (And the disc got there!)

    Hello Tracey

    I have ordered Illustrator 10.
My Visa has been charged UKP55. Still a bargain.
Also if you order by Visa or any credit card, your money is safe, if the goods do not arrive. I checked with Barclaycard. They have nothing on the company.

It does not seem to be a risk and Photoshop is really a necessity if your are doing any serious bitmap graphics.

    Hi Tracey,

So very sorry this has worked out to your advantage!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif I did take the opportunity to write them and I supplied them with the link to this forum thread and invited them to post directly (after joining) if they have a cheaper way for international orders. If Gary will not allow for this I at least tried. I think it would be advantageous for the interested parties visiting this thread to know the how's and why's in case want's to follow through and explain their shipping information more informatively. Is that OK Gary??

I wholeheartedly agree with Mike, it's a must for any one that does work with photo's or wants to create HIGH-END images. It IS the industry standard. While I LOVE and cherish XaraX as the main standard for vectors in my toolbox, PS7 has quickly replaced all the other image/paint programs that I have on board including PhotoImpact, PhotoPaint, Satori FilmFX, DogWaffle and the GIMP. Not to say I won't continue to update each and every one of these fine products. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Being a software junkie it's probably inevitable but maybe no! PhotoImpact just released a new version and I'm not a bit interested in the update (well, maybe a tiny bit!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif ).

Legit or not, this site raises too many red flags. Assuming the CDs are legal, there’s no guarantee they were obtained legitimately. Do a search on Ebay and you’ll find people selling Photoshop for considerably more.

The site says: “But you MUST act now, this offer ends when supplies are gone”. This is an obvious bargain; there’s no need to persuade you so blatantly. It could just be cheesy marketing or they could be pushing you to act on your impulses.

Take a look at this link: http://astro.umsystem.edu/apml/ARCHI.../msg00956.html
It describes the same deal showing up on, of all places, someone’s porch 3 months ago. Why would it take so long to sell a seemingly too-good-to-be-true bargain. They could probably have sold it higher and faster on ebay.

It’s up to you whether or not to have 100% confidence in this. However, I wouldn’t trust a bricks and mortar store that sold Photoshop for $50 never mind an anonymous web retailer.

Mike & others, Be careful about assuming that your credit card will protect you, I think you have to spend £100 (not $100) in UK for that.

Alex I tend to agree with you on that but ebay is also a bit of a risk (I've taken it)

    Hi Alex,

I am one of 3 people that I know that have ordered from this company and have received the product and the key code's are obviously good or the update would not have worked. I should know I have run pirated software in the past before and NO update would EVER apply to the software when it was made available. Almost as if the cracked key code rendered the software invisible to the updater.

So yes, it's a chance that a person interested takes by going this route but I am happy to say I have my copy and I have applied my PS 7.01 update and I DO plan on buying a full upgraded version of CS eventually. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Life is chance Alex and sometimes you have to gamble and if it's 99% guarantee then I see no reason NOT to go forward. I certainly DO NOT have $600.00+ dollars to spend on software like that. So the gods smiled down on me and others that took the chance. It was worth it!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

    Hi everyone

I finally managed to persuade my partner to part with the funds for Photoshop. I mean, lets face it, where else am I going to get the chance of Photoshop for even $91. I just hope it'll arrive. If RAMWolff is right, they are genuine, so I should get the program sometime after Christmas.

John - thanks for the offer. I didn't respond immediately as I wanted to think about it but on reflection I decided that from the UK it really wouldn't achieve very much because I would have had to pay just as much (maybe a little more) to get an international money order to send you. Nevertheless, thanks for your kind offer.

RAMWolff - Thanks for the link on the Pixelparity site. It was a help to see the message you yourself saw.

Alex - You've had a good go at this company. However, RAMWollf has got his software and it installed fine, so they seem to be a genuine company. What's your beef? You want tech support? Then look on the internet or get a magazine. We in the UK subscribe to a magazine that started off trying to be all things to all graphics programs. Some years ago though, they made the decision to deal only with Photoshop, Photoshop Elements and Paintshop Pro. We don't have any of these at present but nevertheless, we were able to use and adapt the principles described using the programs we DO have. There is more than enough Photoshop tech support out there to satisfy ANYONE! Probably better than Adobe's if a friend's experience is anything to go by! As for upgrades, we certainly don't have the funds to afford them but why bother? If you can wait long enough it may be that I can get my upgrade from the same site. Apart from this, just because an upgrade has been produced doesn't mean your existing software stops working. I still have a lot of very old programs on my PC - but they still work and give me very good service and will do as long as I want them to!

Again, thanks for all the help and assistance you've all given me over this.

In my case, I called Adobe and asked if I could upgrade from Elements. They said Elements or one of those other earlier versions that I don't remember the name. I did save some cost. Of course, after I received PS7, the PS CS version became available. I called again, and received a free upgrade form Adobe. It is best to call at times, and see what is available. Rich
