Web site not butt .

I've seen other posts were Gary has been well 'complimented' and rghtly so he is a good example to us all. No .jpg of the butt please Gary.

You managed to pick a page were everyone has added a criticisim (be is small/minor) and that is rare - are my lips in the right place.

As Gary said, in a world were things are not so friendly it's nice to see supportive feedback. Bit like that bar in Boston were everyone shouted Norm when the well rounded chap came in the door. Here everyone shouts Gary (No direct comparison on size there Gary - again no need for the .jpg).

Oh really?

I don't kiss anybody's ass... that includes the moderator's. If it looks that way, it's because I'm trying to be polite.

I checked out your 7 posts to these forums. They are all negative, with no constructive advice. The only thing I can tell from your profile is that you are old enough to know better than act that way.

I know we're not supposed to talk about pricing online, but I had to wonder if it was a typo??

Gary, on your website is the price per scanned photo correct?

No it is not a typo. I was considering going after a local market and offering personal web sites.

After coming to my senses, I decided that is not going to feed the five cats. So the scanning service is coming out of the prices.

I really am not sure about this site.

I think it is on the brink of being good, but is not quite there.

When I get to the home page, I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at.

My eyes are drawn toward the screenshots, but when I get there they don't tell me anything.

The important part of the page gets lost, which is the message that you do "clean, functional web site and logo design".

The rest of the site is adequate, but could still do with some work - but nothing in particular jumps out at me as being wrong with them like the home page does.

Keep going with it though - I feel you're close to the breakthrough!

Permit me to say that if there is something both sites have (Gary's and Michael's) that I'm having difficulties with, it is the fact that they fill the left side of my monitor and leave the right side blank. It is not so difficult nowadays to center it, eventually with one big table.
This said, I do prefer Gary's austere Zen design to the sensory overload of Michaels'. But, as I said before: I prefer the Xaraxone as it's more playful. (although it is also left wing propaganda)

I think I best let you know that I didn't design my site (apart from some of the graphics that are on it). The site is part of a network of sports sites that cover various sports across Europe.

The design is dictated to us, and we fill content using a database entry system. It works to let us get breaking news and features quickly to the site, which is the main aim.

If anybody would like to see my (not so great) design of the sports site before we became involved with Rivals.net (http://www.rivals.net for the full network of sites) then feel free to visit http://www.exosoftwebdesign.co.uk/centurions/links.htm. Unfortunately the front page of this site has been overwritten and lost, but carried a significant part of the sites style.

There is no site at the root of the domain - that is still some way from construction.

Michael

I apologize for my previous rude remark. I need to thicken my skin a bit.

NP Gary

Looking back I think I was a little sharp with me critiscm, but there was no offence intended.

We all know of your excellent graphics skills (and indeed you excellent web site design skills, the XaraXone being an excellent indication of this), it's just I feel that the GWPriester site isn't quite there yet, but is close.

IMHO, if the home page was more focused (problems as I described above) then I feel that the rest of the site would fall into place.
