I'm not sure about the home page because I really like it, although I have had very mixed reviews about it. I feel it reflects my design philosophy.

But there is always room for improvement and I plan to work away at the site until it is the very best it can be, and then some.

Thanks one and all for all your comments and direction.

Gary, I hardly feel qualified to offer a non-professional opinion on your site, so take this for what it's worth.

To have the screenshots and multiple sample logos featured first and foremost on the home page sends a conflicting message to me. Personally, I'd much rather have my first impression of your abilities come from the layout and design of your own web site and logo, than the work you've done for others.

It would seem to me that the samples of your work could best be presented as a first-level link. That way people can know what to be expecting when they click through rather than being hit up front with logos/designs for other companies. I can see someone pulling up your home page for the first time with the screenshots and various logos and think, "Wait a second, am I on the right page?"

Remember, you get what you pay for when it comes to my unsolicited advice.

"Clean Functional Web Site & Logo Design"..... A nice departure from other design sites with the glossy "over the top" 20 second flash intros. The site is true to its mission/vision. Can find everything with a few clicks.

The only suggestions is the font color. It is a little hard to read, especially when it overlaps the g back drop.

    Nice job.

I certainly agree that the concept is brilliant, and that the idea of keeping in clean, clear and easy to use is superb and works wonderfully.

The problem for me is that if I came to this site from, lets say, a search engine, I would be entirely convinced i was in the right place at first glance and I'd be hitting the back button.

If the meaning of the site is potrayed stronger on the first page then the rest of the site just falls in to place around it, and you'll have a wonderful site that serves it's purpose.

I wanted to update this story.

I decided to have an official host for gwpriester.com so that the correct site name would show in the address line and the search engines could locate and read the META tags.

I found the perfect complement to Active-Domain.com, 11net.com

Like Active-Domain.com, they combine a great hosting price $6.95-$12.00 per month, and have a well designed and information rich web site and excellent technical support.

Active-Domain was very helpful in correcting my redirect mistake and now my site looks like a real professional site.

I recommend both of these services. They are low cost but high service.

And everything appears to be in order.

Anyone else get this Page Not Found error message?

Perhaps you're seeing a cached version?
