    Exclamation Sitemap issue when publishing website

    Hello. I created my website using Xara Designer Pro. I export the site from Xara as HTML to a folder on my computer, then upload the contents of that folder to my host server via FTP. Once online, the site loads fast and performs well, but it's not being detected by any search engine (Google, Bing, etc.) I've included meta data on each page of the site.

    I also notice the sitemap file generated by Xara contains little information, as listed below:

    <urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9">
    <url>
    <loc>https://www.rocketstudios.us/index.html</loc>
    <lastmod>2024-02-17T18:58Z</lastmod>
    </url>
    </urlset>

    What can I do to fix this problem? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    My website is: https://www.rocketstudios.us

    This one was created by octopus.do, but there will be others if you'd like to have options.

    You need to tell Google about your website in https://search.google.com/search-console.

    Without doing this, your website will eventually be found and crawled but it may take weeks.

    Nothing to do with Xara or its sitemap.

    It looks like you're publishing your site as what used to be called a 'supersite', rather than as a 'website' with individual pages, so there's is only one page to list on the sitemap. Further to this there is very little for the google bot to search on as the textual content on your site is minimal. Place 'Rocket Studios' as text in H1 style and list your graphic servises as text also. The bots will then have an easier time listing your site.

    Your home page (website in your case) is named 'Rocket Studios Home' which is the bare minimum your telling a web bot.

    The Description is better:

    "Welcome to Rocket Studios, the Launchpad of Imagination! This site features the work of Rodney Frendak, Illustrator &amp; Graphic Designer."
    Each page has a single image which is fine but name your images as they'll make more sense to accessibility users and publish them as webp images if your version of Xara supports webp.

    The meta-keyword tag is not used by Google Search, and it has no effect on indexing and ranking at all.
    Your illustrations are excellent, very talented
