    After reading these posts I understand now why the staff at Xara to not want to get involved or post responses on this formum. I'm sure they don't have time for all the trash talk. They are probably better off to just "read" the posts and move on from there. Thank you Mr. Moir for your post. I think you have make it clear that Xara is planning on a upgrade sometime in the future. If you discontinue contributing to this formum, we will understand why.

    Fedor: "Today am send Klaus_test_EPS to my friends in print bureaus for testing on theys RIPs"

    I'm _guessing_ that it will work on some RIPs and not on others. The reason being that some RIPs are capable of in-RIP separations and may be forgiving of mixed RGB/CMYK color spaces.

    Anyway, I would never send a _real_ job file into a RIP which tested as poorly as this EPS - a recipe for expensive disaster.

    Hello??? Are there any moderators here?

    Throughout this technically important thread I have posted nothing but arguments, facts and test files. And Jens Benthien has indulged in an endless barrage of sarcasms and hooliganisms - now climaxing with:

    "...don't steal our precious time any more with your kinky stinky statements. Crawl into the butt of the Adobe company...".

    Isn't it time you moderators started moderating - i.e., forbid and/or delete postings of this sort?

    Fedor, I too now have tested the EPS with the very latest version of Ghostscript. And the PDF which it exported had ALL the same problems I have been seeing all the time: the 50% blacK in the gradations is no longer 50% blacK - but a wholly new CMYK combination, which proves, once again, that a RGB/CMYK conversion has taken place.

    So the CMYK colors I define in Xara X do not ouput the way I intend them too. THAT, in a nutshell, is what we NEED.

    Sheff: "In all fairness to Xara, AI7 format was all that existed when XX came out."

    True. But the AI7 format DOES support multi-color CMYK gradients - which the XX AI7 export doesn't produce.

    Sheff: "And it's really unfair to criticize XX's compatibility issues with PS7 and AI 10+ now. Adobe has worked on improving their products while Xara has remained unchanged. Arguing about which product is superior is pointless."

    I agree. So I have done NONE of that in ANY of my postings in this thread.

    Xara -> Xara EPS (Export from Xara)

    Xara -> GhostScript -> PDF

    Ideal: Make in Photoshop only.

    http://www.artin.ru/fax/forums/talkg...test_corel.jpg

    Xara -> CMX -> Corel -> EPS
    This a good workaround. Look good. This a PS level 2 EPS. If you want excellent result - use PS3.

    I hope guys, you known most CorelDraw EPS troubles? he he he... 8-)
    (Russian guys can read all about Corel troubles in

    I really don't know what the heck you are trying to prove! Either you have an extremely lousy equipment, or something is wrong with your set up...

    I've used 000 R 255 G 255 B = 100% cyan, exported it as Xara X *.eps and opened it with Ghostscript.

    Result: see below - side by side, GS placed over Xara.

    There is nothing to complain about. And **if** one color value should differ in one value for one or two units in the triplet, it doesn't matter at all because there are many more variables that influence the final result: paper, paper color, used inks (direct imaging versus offset or digital imaging) and so on.

    So please be so kind and check your equipment.

    BTW, this is a *.png pic to avoid any color shifts of the jpg format.

    ...is another one - a bit more complex, and 100% clean and bug free.

    No please surrender, your effort to prove that Xara X is not suited for high quality printing is useless.

    if you want me to post the single b&w films (side up, side down or any other spec), let me know - I will deliver whatever you want. No problem with the right know how and an equipment fine tuned and set up by a real professional who **knows** the technology of the biesty machines!

    I think you still have to learn that Adobe is NOT the non plus ultra.

    And Klaus, I know that you will bite into your fire logs by now because THIS CAN'T BE according to your limited knowledge.

    I'm just sharpening my knifes my friend, switching to my Linux machines, and then let's dance - I really hope you have enough breath to survive my Samba par Ti with you!

    I'm gettin' excited now, recalling my best coding times - Fiesta, what a CHALLENGE for me to make you guys sweat like hell.
