Ross proposed a Jello challenge, Wolfgang mentioned jiggeling Jello cubes, and Steve said to post in the Gallery. So, here's a Jello cube.

Can anyone explain why the animation is slower when viewed in a browser than when previewed in Xara X?!? When I open the file in IE6 it is noticably slower.

Sorry for the large file size.

The action is wonderful and the combination of reflection, translucency and motion is very jello like for me!

I "saved as" and looked at your anim in IrfanView (it has a .gif player) and it played about 3X the speed of my browser but had some white banding.

I then loaded it in Ulead's GIF Animator and it played about the same speed as my browser (IE 5.5).

IE is the most common but not the best .gif player. In this case you are moving a lot of pixels. I suspect if you make the animation smaller it will play faster but this speed seems perfect to me!

I was inspired by Ross’s Jello challenge and Soquili’s example but was busy preparing and then making a presentation this weekend - so just getting to it now!

I guess I didn’t follow the directions properly. This batch isn’t nearly as transparent as Gary’s or as shiny as Soquili’s.

I appreciate the compliments. It was surprizing how easy it was to make this using Xara X.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

Bob you simply forgot to slightly oil the pan as Ross suggested ;-) The oil gives it that shine.
