For me, the most visually appealing logo was #9. Don't ask me why, it just works for me.

Wise men still seek Him.
All look great but nine and four work for me. It would be interesting to see what nine would look like with four's graphic element. I really like the nesting in four. "professional" on nine looks a little thin and hard to read.
Just an idea, to bring out the marriage between the two products is to somehow use the Excel Icon logo (the big X as I call it), or variation, in the design.
Good job Gary!

It would be 9 for me Garry in most situations but 8 would work on small business cards. It's so clean and simple but for a presentation then 9.
Design is thinking made visual.
#9 is excellent. In #7 I would "skew" the text a bit more (making it more "italic"?) so it would match the sphere better.

... of these logos really jump out, for me.
But of the ones that are there, the symbol/mark of #9 has the most visual interest. I'm not sure about the main typeface, it seems a little bland, and stiff.

I wondered if the following design had occurred to you, constructing your own "R" using an "O" as the top part. My attempt is kinda lame, but you get the idea.

Why, I’m afraid I can’t explain myself, sir, because I’m not myself, you know...

Nine gets my vote too....trouble is they are all good, but 9 looks like it is already established.
Cheers

Hi Gary,
I think number 9 is best. 8 is very good, but it reminds me of something, just can't remember what at this time. 2 is visually appealing, but the 'O' looks like play button; may be something the company would like to incorporate into their marketing plan. Working with Open Report is more like "Play" than work.
