Beautiful mug Judi,

but it's "Gasthaus" (single word).
Your mug comes from Munich in Bavaria. I guess the term "Wirtschaft" is more common there.

We in Austria call it "Wirtshaus" mostly.

Just a little German (and not to forget Austrian ) slang-lesson .

And ... who drank the beer ???

Wolfgang

By the way, do you have your tickets yet ??
Oktoberfest is starting September 22 !
www.oktoberfest.de if you are interested. But I won't be there ...

Isn't there an Oktoberfest in Milwaukee or something ??

... great looking mug, Judi! I bet it holds the beer nice and cool for a long time! Beer tastes so much better when enjoyed in a proper "container?!".

October fest - we have one in Montreal and it is a great opportunity to try some different beers, sausages and mustards! Mmm... Mmmm... Mmmm!

Wolfgang. If you don't use it you lose it, and I haven't used any German for decades. I lived there for almost a year when I was a teen.

Oktoberfest is celebrated in many towns in the U.S. I've been to a couple of them.

Yeah Risto, beer in a paper cup is a sin.

Judi
