I have this scan of some text. Its my bosses company and I want to create it in Xara.

However I cant find a way to get the shape of this text. (I have the font.)

As you can see all I want to do is pull up the center of the text block.

    Here is one way.

    1. Type the first three letters and use perspective mould to elevate the right side of the mould rectangle.

    2. Type the last three letters and use the mould tool to elevate the left side of the mould rectangle the same distance as in #1.

    3. Group the two sets of letters.

How would you do it if you couldn't conveniently split the text into two bits? or wanted to be able to edit the text later? I.e., can you apply any polygon as a mould? I seem to recall you could do that with !DrawPlus on the Acorn (or was it !Vector?)

The closest thing would be a Default Envelope which is a smooth sided envelope. You could arch the top. But it would be a curve. Still, it might work.

    Hi Anton,

To do something with an odd number of characters (11) The easy way would be the default envelope as Gary suggested, then make the control arms meet in the center... see pretty pics...

I thought about using a curved envelope top, as Gary and John suggested, and it does pass muster with mixed case text, but something like Arial all in capitals would show up the trick.

I'd say this is another one for the X2 wishlist -- any shape as a mould, including polygons with sides <> 4.
