SmartShape with mid-line circular points

Not sure if I imagined this, but was/is there a SmartShape where you can add, what would normally be end points, along its length?

A bit like this: o-----o-----o-----o

The closest I think might be the Smart Chevron where you can set the arrow head to be flat.

You could also make a Scatter Brush from an upright cross.

Well if you have a plain ellipse and you convert to editable shapes, then select with the Shape Tool you have 4 control points. Is that what you mean?

Thanks Acorn and Gary. Yes it was something like the Smart Chevron I was thinking of. But making a scatter brush is an excellent solution for what I want to do. Changing the line width and brush spacing gives me plenty of flexibility. I'll post the graphic when I've finished it.

You can try blend along a path.

Thanks Gary. I'm sure I must have known about blends on paths once. The option is not so obvious unless you have a path selected. This opens up a whole new area for investigation.
