Hi Phil,
You can do so by selecting all in the text column and Ctrl+X (Cut) then in the text tool just click on the page and Ctrl+V (paste). It will retain any linefeeds from the text column, so if you want to remove these it's best to widen the original text column to a single line prior to the Ctrl+X step.

Thanks for your timely reply Egg... however, it doesn't quite resolve my problem. Your suggestion works if I were only doing one or two but I have a multitude I want to convert (not possible to do one at a time).
The issues resulted when I opened a corel cmx file.
any other thoughts sir?

Select all the Text Columns on the page.
Copy & paste into NotePad.
Remove the unwanted CRLFs, replacing with a Space.
In Xara, select the Text Tool and click on the page to place a cursor.
Copy back out and paste into your Xara design page.
Are you sure it is from Text Column to Text Line you actually want and not the opposite?

That's what I was thinking and if not then WHY?Are you sure it is from Text Column to Text Line you actually want and not the opposite?

Egg,
I was able to resolve my problem by using a different format. Sorry to bother you but thanks again for helping me out.
