Maybe the example was not very good. (Never said I was good at explaining things.)
It is just a standard presentation. You can have as many pages and presentation steps as you like, and you don't need to have the same number of steps on different pages. And each step can have a different delay.
The only thing you have to make sure is that you provide enough delay values in that array of numbers.
