    Default XDP11 - 64bit Installation?!

I've just installed the 64bit version of Designer Pro X11, on a Laptop running (obviously) 64bit Windows 10.

Firstly, I noticed that when I selected any tool, the 'Infobar' was not there.
Meaning, for example, if you selected the Text tool, you then wouldn't be able to choose the font or size or all the other things you can do.
OK, I found out how to activate that.

I've just noticed that there are no 'Lind Widths' available.
Doesn't mean that I can't type a value into the box, but, the point is, there are no sizes available to choose from.
    Any ideas on that one?

These things seems rather odd and annoying.

Rik - I moved this to the Xara Graphics forum.

Did you try the first obvious thing, Run as Administrator?

And if so, go to Window > Control Bars and see if Infobar is unchecked. If so, check that box.

OK. Thanks for moving the post.

I just right-clicked on the toolbar and clicked on 'Infobar' to activate it.

But, my question is more to do with why I don't have any line widths?
You can see by the attached image, that I get a choice between 'None' and '0px'

Never mind all the other line widths that should be available, it's very hard to work out the difference between None and 0 !!!

But, joking aside, I would have expected the usual line widths to be there.

None and 0 is not much of a range You must have bought the cheapo version.

Did you try Run as Administrator? (Close program, right click on the program icon and select Run as Administrator) If not this often cures a variety of odd stuff.

If all else fails, a fix might be to use XaReg to repopulate the list.

    I agree - it's likely a registry thing

oh and in xara there is a technical difference between 'none' and '0' for line widths - none means what it says; 0 gives you a line width set at the smallest size possible [this may be system configuration dependent as to it's actual size] - I often used to get such line widths on vectors imported from illustrator/E3

I checked the installed version, which as I said was installed from the CD.
And it says: Xara Designer Pro X 11.2.5.42127 CD x64 Dec 9 2015

So, I thought I would try to see if it needs updating?
I tried that and I get a message to say that 'This program is up to date'.

If you have XDP11, is your version the same as mine?

I did try and run as administrator. Made no difference.

    only running xdpx12...

line width is on the 'standard' tool bar - drag it off to delete it

go to the button palette and check if the line widths appear correctly on the button there - if so, drag it onto the standard bar - if not the reset all bars

if that does not work [or you don't want to reset all bars] then you could run program repair - if that fails, it's a restore I guess, or edit registry

I forget exactly where the line sizes are held in registry - but a manual edit of these would be last resort - xareg can do this though so you could try that

EDIT - I'm sure you know this, but for record, hold alt when dragging buttons; repair is found by rerunning the installation .exe file [probably best done in admin mode]

I've tried the button pallet, Steve.
It's the same there. You get the option of None and 0.

I may try other options that have been suggested.

Installed the 32bit version, and all the line widths are there.
And that installation didn't make any difference to the 64bit version, though.

So, it may well be a case of entering the values, manually!
