Default Trying out Xara Graphic Designer 11

You may find more questions from me since I upgraded to 11. First of all, I am using a fill and changed my mind and I want to remove it. In my help file, it says there is a "remove" to click on but I don't see it. (screenshot attached.) Shouldn't it be in that list? If not, where do I go to remove a fill?

I'm using v.12 and the option is available in the Bitmap Gallery.

It has always been - select the Fill Tool (G) and pick the Flat Fill option.

Exactly, which Help topic is this "remove" mentioned?

Lower left corner of Xara is the no-fill, no-outline icon. Left click to set no-fill color, Right click to set no-outline color to the selected object.

Mike, yes but that removes the colour and the fill.
Mine remove the Bitmap fill with a default Black colour fill; clearing the colour fill typically leaves orphaned invisible objects around the place.

I agree with Acorn in #5, this is the best method to remove colour and fill. With regard the original question, I see she is using a bitmap fill from the Fills gallery so she can either use the method as Acorn explained or click on the object she has filled and wishes to change it with another bitmap fill by selecting the fill she wants in the fill gallery then click fill. Just make sure the object is selected.

Yikes, this is getting complicated! I did delete it in the Bitmap gallery but I can't get it cleared out. Now I get this every time I open a new page.

You seem to have selected the fill and used the repeating tile fill, change the fill type by selecting your image then click on the fill tool, you will see the bitmap fill and the type, change it to single tile then drag it to size using the handles that will show in the middle of the image.

I never noticed that, but then I rarely use the fill gallery anyway. Good you pointed that out,we wouldn't want invisible orphans around the place.
