Default Xara ~ Check spelling as you type

Today I was using XDProX to write a letter. I had 'check spelling as you type' ticked but obvious spelling mistakes were not being highlighted. On unticking & reticking Xara informed me I had my dictionary set to none, did I want to set it to my default English (UK) or something close. After this all worked well. I haven't changed anything on my system nor reinstalled so why this occured I'm at a loss to say.

Can any other members check to see if they have this issue?

Xara responded to this a time back.
For each new document, you have to set the language otherwise you get an Ignore setting.
Only an extra four mouse clicks (when you remember).

this is not a setting that holds in a custom document template then?

No - its called KISS. I cannot remember how to do and have to find out every time.

Xara have deleted the setting for default language - please put it back - as I am English and never learnt another language (as you would expect) and to old to do so.

I raised it recently as having problems.

seems a bit silly - not that I would write a letter in Xara, or any block text.... each to their own...

It would appear that if you set the language in a template it sticks, but unless this is done for each template you have to set it each time.

I create all my letters within Xara and have been doing so for the past 25 years. I rarely use Word (or similar) unless creating a template for a client. It is very capable of doing this type of work.
