nice way to produce a chrome or gold effect on type faces:

    01. create a rectangle
    02. create a sine curve, slightly larger than the rectangle
    03. center the rectangle and curve
    04. clone both
    05. slice one rectangle with the curve
    06. apply a gradient fill in the lower part
    07. apply another gradient fill in the upper part
    08. make bitmap copy (high resolution!!!!)
    09. type your word
    10. drop bitmap onto the word
    11. adjust fill size, eventually stretch
    12. apply bevel - very thin one with high contrast
    13. apply shadow
if you select the appropriate colors, you can achieve either a warm, rich gold or a cool, sharp blue chrome effect - see below

    ciao,

    Many thanks.

When you make the bitmap copy, it will appear in the Bitmap Gallery. There's a toolbar button that will open the bitmap gallery if it's not open, and I think the keyboard shortcut is F11.

If you click and drag from the bitmap gallery, you can drag the bitmap and drop it on top of the text object, which should set it to be the fill for that object.

Another way to do this would be to select your object, switch t the FIll tool, in the toolbar change the fill type to bitmap, and then there will be a drop down list in the toolbar that lists all of the bitmaps, and you can pick it from there.
This signature would be seven words long if it was six words shorter.

    Hi,
i can drag the bitmap onto my text, but it just stays on top of my text, it does not become the fill of the text. Your second option does work however.
