Frank - I trust you have a clean image already made with acronis or similar so you don't actually have to clean install more than once...

not sure if it's the same issue but see here: http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...Windows-Update

might even be a windows update issue,,,

I feel for the OP and anyone/everyone else who had had issues with whatever is going on.

These threads are amazing...and if one figures how many times a day there are Xara employees here, even more amazing the lack of comment.

Thanks all for the great help here including the long way of getting it to work. Xara is not replying to me so guess they are lost.

I however figured it out, it seems to be they think I have too many installations although in their service account I have one installation which I deactivated. Although I did this and reinstalled it still turned to demo. What I did was give my computer a new name and that worked, it activated.

Wow that was a headache and a half.

    Again thank you to all.

easus is neither easy nor US, but maybe it's not trying to be either
i tried it a year or so ago and although it imaged the drive well enough i found the free version lacking in ease of use and options available in other software
i've also use minitool partition wizard for imaging hard drives and it's a breeze and it too is free
If someone tried to make me dig my own grave I would say No.
