Default New masthead for our local newspaper and website

The Signpost has been using my photos each month under the text on the masthead but it gets so buried under all the other stuff that nobody sees it.

So, as a contributor to our paper I volunteered to redesign the masthead and make it a bit simpler. This is the version that will appear on the website.

I used Chi-Town from Nick's Fonts for the SIGNPOST text. I purchased it from MyFonts.com but you can also get it free on DaFont. The condensed sans serif font is Oswald which is a Google font available in Xara's Google Fonts section but I downloaded the entire font from Font Squirrel.

The small illustration inside of the O will change each month as will the color of the bar at the bottom.

That's a big improvement, Gary. Lovely graphic inside the "O".
I'm a big fan of Nick's Fonts, especially Little Deuce Coupe. Loads of variety in his portfolio but they are all undeniably Nick's.

Hi Gary, this is what I call clean and simple. I love the chi-town font. Great job.

    Thank you for sharing

    Looks elegant, yet modern.

Any reason why you didn't add a dot between "9" and "September?"

I did not think I had to label them BEFORE and AFTER.
