    Default fading page elements out

I would like to have some elements filling a page and gradually fading out after a certain amount of time.
Qne sure could fade in a large rectangle which covers these elements but I wonder if any of you had found
a way to basically invert reveal animations?

Nope. I would do the large rectangle with the new content fading in to cover the previous. I think the option to have objects reverse out and fade out would be a terrific addition.

Thanks! Just making sure I wasn't missing something obvious.
Using a cover wasn't a straightforward option in that particular case. It had to stretch to full width
and at the same time have a reveal animation attached. Xara doesn't allow this...

That might be possible with CSS animation (animate the opacity). Please post back if you are interested to try and need help with it. I might have some spare time tomorrow.

    Hi Siran,
thanks for your offer! The first scenario is very simple. A few words of text created as "text line"
(by just clicking somewhere with the text tool and starting to write). It should appear OnLoad,
remain visible for a few seconds and then fade out.

Currently I get this to work with a white rectangle which fades in and covers up the text.
It sure was more elegant if the text itself vanished.

The second scenario would apply that idea to a tag cloud, which uses the whole Browser
window but isn't set to stretch. All text strings touch the page and are cut away upon
making the browser more narrow. See attached sample. It was good if text remained text.

I will definedly use the first version but I'm yet not sure about the second one.
So please don't invest too much time here :o)

I have changed my mind and did it with some javascript. The reason is that I wanted to completely remove the objects after fading out.
Is this what you wanted to do?

Yes it is, perfect. Thanks a lot!
One really should collect your scripts in a sticky thread somewhere.

Or you could do as I do and save them in a file on your hard-drive, something like Web-goodies/sirans-stuff/ or Web-goodies/acorns-stuff

Well, I rather thought of others who might find this useful too.
