Default Designer Keeps Switching to Demo Mode

Hope I can get help here.

I reinstalled web designer 365 after resetting my computer but it keeps going to demo mode. It takes my key and says already registered but when I restart the program it goes to demo, I have deactivated all installations in the xara account but still the same thing.

I have written support but they seem lost, asking me to deactivate, which I did and have no answers.

Any idea why this is happening. If I deactivated why say already registered?

Thank you for any help on this as very frustrating, it has been a week now trying to get this to work.

    Close the program.

Right click on the program icon and select Run as Administrator. This will either work or it won't. If it does not work then contact Xara and file a support ticket. http://support.xara.com

    Thanks all

Tried this but still opening as demo. I am talking to their support but they seem lost. Hoping this can be fixed, can't be the only one with this issue.

    Thanks again

When you say it's opening as demo, what exactly do you mean? Can you supply a screen-grab?

When I first installed and put the serial content installer was there, when I closed and restarted the program it was gone and in the catalog Components and Social is grayed out asking me to buy to use them.

The only thing I could suggest is to unistall and reinstall. There may be a problem with the number of registrations however. Probably best to go Help/Deactivate prior to uninstalling.

EDIT: Best wait for supports reply first

you coud try running repair rather than uninstall/reinstall - it may be the registry on your computer thinks the program is activated, even though xara servers say it is not

first off try to install and activate it on another pc
this ensures it's not your xara account that's up the swanee

the following will definitely work but you won't do it because it's a pain and anyway you shouldn't have to
    backup your data
get windows on a usb stick with the media creation tool
fiddle with bios, insert media and reboot
    reformat your hard drive
    clean install windows
    clean install x365

if that seems a too long of a tortuous path
    backup your data
    uninstall xara using geek uninstaller
get tweaking.com windows repair tool (portable)
    repair registry
    run chkdsk
    run sfc /scannow
    repair everything else
    reboot
    reinstall x365

neither one is much fun and number one is the most drastic but it's guaranteed to work (see ps.)
number two might work but with windows who the heck knows

ps. if you choose the long and tortuous path and it still doesn't work then you can finally blame xara
but at least you'll have a clean pc

Its just a thought but sometimes antivirus software can cause problems, have you tried switching off any antivirus you have running temporarily while you activate the program.
