Floating Template

Hi group

I made a custom 5000px X 5000px template and saved it as an .XAR. I put in the templates folder and it shows up with the company made files no problem.
The problem is it "floats". Whenever I go to do a marquee group the template moves. Any ideas on how to lock it in place?

Hi Bob, sounds to me like your selecting something in a layer or a white or transparent shape which is causing this, perhaps the page &/or pasteboard layer is unlocked. Could you post your web/xar file?

Bob, can you update your profile so we don't have to ask which product you are using? Which product are you using?

I can only fully view a 5000 px square page at 10% on my laptop.
Nothing 'floats'. I can use the Page and Layout and click on individual objects and the view moves to that object.
When I marquee select across a large area, the template necessarily has to move to get to keep the cursor in view.
If this is what you mean by floating then yes as it has to.

To get back to where you were, Ctrl click on the visible object of the group.
Then press Tab until the object you want has been highlighted in the PAge and Layout gallery.
Then click on that highlight.
