Hi. I want to create some toy blocks (3-D) in different materials. Is there an example or tutorial somewhere that I can use/watch? Thanks for your help.

different colours is easy, different textures is doable but tedious because in xaradesignland only front faces of 3d shapes can be textured and i can't see that changing ever
you could create your textured shapes in x3d and import them as pngs into designer
you could use the mould tool to map textures onto 2d faces
or you could stick to colours
i'd be interested to see the video you fOUnd if you could share that
If someone tried to make me dig my own grave I would say No.
They're going to kill me anyway and I'd love to die the way I lived:

Here's Gary P's method of doing a cube from the Xone: http://www.xaraxone.com/webxealot/workbook49/page_6.htm
Also I used his method plus a bit of my own to do a logo for a Pre-School biz. To get the hand drawn look of coloured pencil was easy. Just used a waxed crayon on a sheet then scanned the sheet into Xara and used that. Your welcome to use the block and do what you like with it as it was done in a real rush.
Design is thinking made visual.
Thank you, Albacore, for link, examples, and directions. Very helpful.
