I just ran across this when trying to import or open a PDF file. The only choice is PDF placeholder.
Below is a screen-shot from X11; the file types missing are highlighted in yellow.

right click run as administrator should fix it

John - I see all of these. It does appear that some attempt at order has been attempted and maybe this is why you are not seeing some of the filters you have indicated.
