I enjoy using textures to add a certain depth to flat vector graphics, and the new transparency options are a joy to use.
I really like the Overlay setting. Here's my version of a graphic I liked from an advert for a font.

The only thing I don't understand about it is how it's visible above some colours but not all, red for example shows no overlay. ???
