Copy and Paste a Portion of a Scanned JPG File

I scanned a boilerplate form to modify for my purpose. I need to add a few checkmarks within a box.

1. Is there a way to copy that item and paste it to another part of the form?

If not—

2. Is there a way to copy Wingdings character 0xFE onto the form?

2. Is there a way to copy Wingdings character 0xFE onto the form?

2. is easy using Charmap > Wingdings > 0xFE > Select > Copy.
In Xara, Paste then highlight the symbol and select Wingdings.

Quicker is the On-line Content Catalogue (OCC) > Symbol Fonts > Search "Check Box" > Import.
Do the import as a graphic then you can modify it as is it then a Xara shape.

Thanks for the prompt reply. The solution you offered, Charmap > Wingdings > 0xFE > Select > Copy did the trick.
