Default Shopping Cart Providers & errors adding cart forms

    Hi All,

I've downloaded the free trial of 365 and so far so good.

However, I can't add any buy it now buttons or forms to the site? is this because they are not included in the free trial?

I can add buttons from my cart provider (Mal's Ecommerce) but unless I add a form I can't add quantity buttons. And the form is not being recognised as HTML by the software. (it just keeps adding the script even when I use the option of pasting HTML form)

This is not the first bit of HTML I have added that has not been recognised as code by the software.

    So 2 questions really:

    1) What shopping cart provider/s do you use?
    2) why is the HTML not being recognised as code?

    Thank you,
    Rachel.

Rachel, can you post the piece of code you're trying to embed. Also I have found that ecwid is the best ecommerce solution for xara, there are so many options and you can customise the look to exactly match your website.

    Thank you Cloud.

I think the error is because I was adding the code into word to ammend it, then paste it back in and it was adding all sorts of unwanted bits of code.

Thanks for the shopping cart recommendation I shall take a look at ecwid.

Can you have more than one ecwid account as I have 2 seperate websites that use the same paypal account.

ecwid will not work for me because it is all about Fedex and UPS. we use our own courier and delivery fees are based on postcode. I can't see any feature on ecwid that allows me to have this option.

think I've got it working. I've selected Suffolk & Norfolk, UK as delivery area, then assigned various flat rates.

Glad you found it. Stay away from pasting into or copying from word, it adds it's own formatting, always use something like notepad.

I'm really struggling with the eccommerce side of the website.

Can I use an Open Source cart such as OpenCart and intergrate it with Xara?

The simple answer is no. You can create a site in opencart anyway which will be better than with xara so why integrate, just do everything in opencart. But what problems are you having with ecwid, there are plenty of people here on the forum using it who can help.

Just comes down to the cost of Ecwid. I have a lot of low value ticket items.
