swanky it is not; just damn good food and lots of it;, which costs money, assuming the staff get paid what they deserve

[ we are going to get moderated any minute now, for going 'off-course' ]

I think we're done with food. It's boring me, let alone everyone else!

I think my point is you can have a nice meal without spending anything like the cost of P&GD.

P&GD has an entirely reasonable pricepoint.

    I don't think we have gone off-topic.

I find the cost of a meal against the product to be a good simile and metaphor.
Especially where someone is sampling the menu, hasn't decided to eat there and is constantly being asked to try the shrimp.

Here, the trick about understanding XPGP365 is akin to getting a restaurant to reveal its plans for a drive-in diner.

ah a moderator with excellent taste!

yes all thing are relative, and that is the point... to me P&GD is inexpensive, very good value; but it lacks features I need and so I don't use it myself [though I like to check out new versions]

This is exactly the same as saying I could get food in the cafe half the price of the restaurant, inexpensive, very good value... but it would not be the same.. the bottom line is not what you pay, but what you get for it, and we all want different things

My wife and I had a great 2 course lunch with a few drinks for about half that price and it was lovely.

It was a lunch for two with a glass of Prosecco :-) Very yummy it was too.
But yes, things cost more in the UK, except Xara, which is brilliant value :-)
