Hello Folks, this is a brief demo for modeling 3D text that was requested in the Xara Forum.
First thing to do is to draw a shape with Xara and save it as a bitmap.

Open Bryce 4, and create a symmetrical lattice object by selecting the icon circled in red.
This image shows a wireframe view of the lattice mesh in the scene window, Click the (E) edit icon to open the edit window where the mesh can be modified.
A lot of stuff can be done to the mesh in this edit window, Click the (Pictures) tab.
This is where I load my drawing into the editor.
Click apply, the mesh changes into the X shape of my drawing, Yahoo!
This is the wire frame of my X model in the scene window, this window represents the view thru my rendering camera, I can change the view to top, bottom, left, right, and directors view as needed for arranging the models and any other elements within the scene.
This is a quick render, I've place a ground plane and sky into the scene, applied some stone material to the largest model, the others are just copies scaled down and a cheap plastic material applied to them.
Thats all Folks!
