221 B Revisited

The old Apothecary drawing has evolved over the months to what you see here. The stones, sidewalk, and yes, even the bricks in the building were actually drawn by me, not bitmaps.
There are still a few flaws I see, but for now this is it; until I get ambitious enough and Xara can hold out. Xara PRO is having a hard time dealing with 57.7 megabytes of file. Can you blame it. I think it's amazing this program can handle this type of abuse. (I guess I could make bitmaps of parts of the drawing and place the actual vector in dummy files for preservation. That would make loading and saving a lot easier for Xara)

Anyway, here it is...

Hi Ron, that is great, now I see where the coat of arms was going. Question, what is the silver bar at the bottom left next to the blue car?

Thanks Roly. The silver/metal bar is the tail pipe for the exhaust. It's the back end of a 1928 Alvis SD 12-50 (Beatle Back).
I agree, it is a strange way to have run the exhaust pipe. With no doors, the driver/passenger had to climb over the pipe to get in and out. VERY carefully when the motor had been running for a while. They did wrap that section of the tail pipe with rope (or something like it) to insulate and protect the occupant.
