Duke Family Crest

I've been working on this off and on for months. It's my version of the family crest (not that there's much use for them now). However, it was fun to do, and a challenge.

Gray, the wreaths I believe symbolize in this case "Triumph". The reason being is the Latin slogan included on the gold ribbon, "gradatim vincimus", meaning "we conquer by degrees".
I really don't know much about it, but I'm just starting to take an interest.

That is one, singular, ornate, elegant, handsome shield, Ron!

My own family crest has the Latin motto Fatuis Praeesset Castro under it.

I used to think that meant something prestigious, as all Latin seems to be.

Then I Google translated it, "Idiots Rule the Castle".


Needless to say, I like your work and interpretations better!
