    Default Ugly Sweater Effect?

Hi again, all, and I hope you had a Merry Christmas!

And speaking of Christmas, I've come up with a design I'd like to make into a t-shirt graphic. But I'd like it to look like one of those "ugly sweaters" - you know, the ones where the designs look embroidered. Is there an effect I can use in Xara to achieve that? Thanks so much!

Have no idea what these "Ugly sweaters" look like.

Bear in mind that some people on TG might own and love these "ugly" sweaters. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (or wearer, perhaps).

This is the best I can do at present. I'll see if I can improve on it.

By the way, that's supposed to be an owl.

Great effect Egg. That technique should fit the ugly sweater just fine.

I used a different approach but part of this technique I learned from Egg. I created a seamless tile using a method Egg posted some years ago, and then I created my ugly sweater design and on top of the design I created a dark rectangle and used the seamless tile as a bitmap transparency.
