The Art on Fruit Boxes

Fruit boxes used to have some unique art on their labels. This was done as a fun little exercise after looking at some. All vector drawing with paper texture added by Perfect Effects.

Nicely done. I have often enjoyed looking at fruit and veggie crate labels.

This dovetails in nicely with the vintage travel poster thread, too. Both can be so simple and yet convey quite a lot.

Many years ago I worked in a grocery store and used to see those crates all the time in the produce back room. Always thought they were wonder art work. Wish I had grabbed a few for a collection now.

I remember those labels and I remember the orange groves which were everywhere in southern California when I was growing up. Now almost all are gone for sub divisions.
