Stu, the character(s) will follow in some days, after the last details of the car. They are no clowns.

Mark, thank you for your appreciation of the color.

Kiwi OOOPS !!! Thanks, you have posted your reply while I was writing mine !

    Kindly,

    Ivan---

I appreciate all your "off colors", sort of CMYK colors. I dont' see enough creative use of colors around town, but your contributions is a breath of fresh air.

After seeing your African woman character quite some time ago Ivan I know you will make excellent chars as well

I was just musing on the shape of the car how the curvature even without the smily grill and headlight eyes would still look fun.Is it the organic shape that makes it look this way to our eyes, anyone have any ideas on that.

    Ivan,
These look great. I really like the cartoonish shape.

As far as the metallic bits, you're rendering in Lightwave, right? There are presets for chrome that work really well, or just check out a couple tutorials on chrome, and remember to give it a reflection environment to give it something to reflect (there are several good reflection maps for chrome in the LW install, I like fractalreflection.tga).

Looking great, be sure to post the characters when you have them.

Stu, anthropomorphism is a very widely used argument in car design. Personnally I find too much "car faces" are intentionally and badly agressive. Some of them are also very haughty or contemptuous ...!

Brett, Thanks about the chromes, I have tested some solution without image map (I send the texture in next message) ; here I have placed a simple gradient backdrop to reflect. For a lot of my surfaces I love to use the Fast Fresnel shader. It's not too heavy and it adds a so nice false radiosity effect!

Gary, the backdrop color is used specially here to obtain an "old time" color feeling like in old car catalogues.
