    Default Gold cast letters

I was watching an episode of Gold Rush yesterday and the gold cast logo they showed really caught my fancy the lettering looked as if had been sand casted in solid gold. So my first thought was I have to try recreating this in Designer Pro

Here is my result. I used one of Albacores metal gradients that he donated to the clipart gallery and a noise texture that I created in Filter Forge. (sorry but Xara's fractals just didn't work for this one)

Well done, Frances; it really has the 'cast' ingot look. Guess I'd better look at Filter Forge again. Thanks.

    Thanks Fred, Larry, and Boy.
There is more to this effect than the Filter Forge texture. I generated the texture using filter forge as a stand alone and I used it as a bitmap transparency to get the texture. I also used the built in embossing in Xara to get the gold gleam
There are also layers of stained glass and plain mix transparencies to tone down the embossing in some areas and add depth in others.
