Having multiple monitors enables you to have more than one file open at the same time but currently we're locked into only working within the document window.
I would like it better if the files floated or could be undocked.

You could try this.
I have dual 24" monitors and sometimes just stretch the Xara program window across the two. This allows me to float four documents ..
