    Default Another Green World

Made with XDP, using 2 fractal cloud fills (one for the orb and one for the space background).
For the orb, I ramped up the contrast of the two colours in the fractal fill and this made it easy to
get a vector result with Xara's Bitmap Tracer (using pretty much the default settings).
Having a vector result allowed me to use the Mould Tool to get the spherical result I wanted.
I placed another circle on top with a black fill and a circular transparency.
    Bob.

    Hmm!
I don't recognise any countries or continents, and it appears to be heading into a sun?!

Joking aside, the world looks great.
    A real good job, Bob.

I think you did a swell job BOB. Why did yoy title it "anoth.er green wopld", when it looks to mr to be black and bllue?

EDIT: i would be most interested to compare notes as to how we do these,

No worries Larry, I can see how it looks black at first sight.

Hi Larry, perhaps you need to adjust your monitor? The colour I used for the continents is Teal.
Another Green World is the title of a favourite CD of mine by Brian Eno.

If you'd like to compare notes on how we both do these, I'll start a new thread in a moment showing how I generally make my orbs, and perhaps you and anyone else who'd like to chip in could show us their methods.

Here are some instructions on how I create Orbs using mainly Xara XDP, Filter Forge and Paintshop Pro or Photoshop (to spherize the texture). As I could not use Xara's Bitmap Tracer, I couldn't use the Mould tool to spherize this texture. I have included the .xar file if anyone wants it. The textures I used were created in Filter Forge and if you have the program on your machine, you can search for and download them from the Filter Forge website. They are Architorture for the spacey background and Organic Metal for the Orb.
