Default Best vector format to import into Xara Xtreme

    Hi all.

I'm still back in the Xara Xtreme Pro 5 days.

Someone who doesn't own Xara will be supplying some graphics to me, and I've been asked what vector format I want them in.

What would be the best vector format to request in case I need to import them into Xara for further editing? Best and next best if possible please.

    Many thanks
    - Bill

back in the day I would use legacy illustrator files: .AI version 8

pretty sure xtreme pro 5 does not import SVG and I'm not sure about PDF either but that is worth a try

if they are just flat vectors you should be ok [they may come in clipped or with an applied 0px outline that you should remove] - transparencies may not work, and gradients may not be as they were

... but this is all from memory, maybe someone else who still uses xtreme 5 has better info

PDF if it is straight vector. If they are exported from AI they will be clipped to the artboard all you have to do is to select the hit Alt+Q.

If your source is sending files with fonts, make sure you have the same fonts or have your source convert the fonts to outlines.

Thanks people. I'll ask for PDF and see how we go.
