    I wonder how many of you know that Xara used to be an ancient city (imaginary or not, I have no clue) in Greece.

    if Xara, Ltd. knows that.

    My impression was they selected the name because it sounded cool.

    I could be wrong.

    I don't know about the city, but I know that Xara means Joy in Greek.

    I don't know that Greek city story - I've heard Xara is called Xara because that word occurs in a Monthy Python episode. The word is only "cool" in writing: when spoken, Xara is a totally stupid name, of course - people are always asking me who this Sarah is!
