Default Re: How to convert a freehand closed line to a mask

The way you edit mask objects using any tool is:

    1) Select the tool you want to use.
    2) In the Page and Layer gallery select mask layer.
2a) Which unlocks the mask layer.
    3) Select and edit mask object.

The normal workflow is geared-up for using the specific mask\region tools, so mask layer is selected\unlocked when you enter a mask tool and locked\deselected when you leave them.

    Thanks Luke, that worked!

However, there must be also a conventional way to unlock/select a mask with a certain series of usage of the conventional tools, because I got there a couple of times already (so did @Boy), in my case definitely without any usage of the Page and Layer gallery -- only can't reproduce it.

And I think it would be good to be able to unlock/select a mask with one of the non-mask tools (probably best with the Shape Tool), in oder to be able to edit it's outline directly.

    Regards David.P

Thanks for that, Luke! Phew, I finally know how this works! It might be useful the include a section "Editing Masks" in the Help file.

Sorry about that GP. I've no idea why it was set to private, something I never use. Can you tell me if you can view it now please?
