Designer Pro X10 problem

Hi all.

Is anyone else experiencing this, or has this been discussed somewhere else?

When I select the open option in Designer Pro X9, I get a view, where I can select a file to open.
And, in fact, there is an option called 'Show preview' on the top right corner of the open dialogue box.
(See the first image - the one that has the Xara colour theme.)

In designer Pro X10, things look a lot different.
No 'Show preview' option.
(See the second image - the one that has the Windows colour theme.)

Is this something that's the same for all those who are using Designer Pro X10?

xdpx10 is now using windows file explorer rather than using its own dialog box

I believe you can use the right hand side to get a preview in the same way as you can in file explorer but I don't know for sure as i don't have ver 10

there is a thread about it around the time ver 10 came out [but don't have a link sorry]

OK. So I see that Xara is using the Windows file dialogue's preview, rather than its own.
But, I still don't get a preview of the file selected.

And I've made sure that XDPX10 is up to date.

Does everyone else get a preview of the selected file?

Having just installed Designer Pro 11, I wasn't willing to put up with the message 'This file can't be previewed' any more!

So, I decided to do a bit of investigation, to see if this could be solved.

Seems that it's all to do with permissions within Windows, and you need to run the programme as 'Administrator'.

So, I right-clicked on the shortcut icon, and clicked on 'Properties', then clicked on 'Advanced' and then put a tick on the box that says 'Run as administrator'.
Then click on 'Apply' and click on 'OK'.

Job done.
And now when I try and open a file, and click on it to select it, I get a preview.
