Import flash to Xaraweb Design

Hi,

I am having issues after a reinstall of Xaraweb Designer Premium 10. I have tried the drag and drop of a .swf file and the replace with flash option through web properties into a into a place holder. When I preview the page the following is displayed <![endif]-->.

I have tried sizing the place holder, tried different flash images created by different applications, loaded all win 7 SP, loaded latest version of flash. The only reason for the reinstall was I have moved to SSD, prior to that everything worked perfectly.

I revert back to my original disk and can update flash with no issues. Xaraweb version numbers are the same on both the SSD and old disk.

appreciate any ideas to fix this frustrating problem

Have you tried this method:

Create a placeholder box. Then in the Web Properties dialog ("Ctrl + Shift + W") select the Placeholder tab and the Replace with Flash Browse options to locate the required .SWF file. Click Apply.

I tried your method and this one with a download file from http://www.flashppt.com/resources/flash-samples.html to test.

Both worked.

tried with the link and i still get <![endif]-->....my next step is to uninstall webdesign pro and re install....will update asap

Just completed an uninstall of Web designer, reboot pc, re installed Webdesigner pro 10, tried both methods and still <![endif]--> appears. Anyone have any further suggestions

Yes I tried the link and the same results.....next step is to rebuild my machine

Does the attached xar file work for you Henry?

What is the origin of the swf file you're using?

It sounds to me like there's an if statement in the code of the file to check whether the browser has Flash enabled (thus the <![endif]--> statement). This may be corrupted.

Perhaps you'd like to share your xar and swf files for us to look-see

As mentioned in the beginning of the thread.....I revert back to my original disk and use the same .swf and it works.....i try the attached

I have completed a reload of windows and still the same issue. please see attached .swf and .web filee and as discussed this works on my old disk....appreciate any help.

I open a new page in xaraweb and create a holder then web properties to ann .swf file.

I can't see a problem.

See attached, it loads your xar using two different methods. You'll need to point it towards your swf file to get it working.
