    Default Geometrical Portrait

I keep seeing the use of geometrical shapes to draw portrait of people and animals it seems quite fashionable drawing to do and some of the animal ones have really been effective. Thought I would try it myself using an Octagon shape throughout the drawing with a few edits. Sorry about the washed out colours but I used CMYK as I was going to print this on laserjet. Try it our ourself just using geometrical shapes (quick shapes) using a selfie from your phone and the like in a locked layer below. Trouble is though the face shape is OK but there is no age to the face so it looks nothing like me. Took about 3/4 hours to do so have ago yourself

I love the idea and what you did. I wonder if I could do as well. I might give it a try but at the moment I am still trying to figure out how to do my current project. Oh well maybe one day I'll come to terms with it.

Yes Gary may use it as an icon or as an avatar. Used a favour yesterday and got it printed out in A3+ and used foam board as backing now up in study but it wont stay long as it not that good. It certainly worth 3/4 an hours work as a experiment just sticking to simple shapes.

This was a very quick go at it - knocked up in just over an hour - me with full winter beard in place!

    Cheers Albacore,

My glasses, or the style I have now, are new because I broke the last pair, it cost me £243!

I have created a couple of footballer images in the geometric style [not exactly but close enough] for my latest infographic which is going to be about Southampton's 8-0 win over Sunderland.

I present Graziano Pellè and scorer of the own goal of the season, Santiago Vergini - influenced by your original post.

    Cheers
    David
