1/2 Pixel

Hi

I know tapping the arrow keys will move an image 1 pixel and holding the <shift> key while tapping the keys will move it 10 pixels. But I was wondering if there is a way to move an image in 1/2 pixels? Sometimes I need a little nudge but a pixel is too much.

Zoom in by a factor of two then use pixel nudge (because pixel nudge works by screen pixels at the current zoom factor, not pixel size in the document).

If I zoom in to 200% or even 500% tapping the arrow keys still moves the object by 1 pixel.

However using alt + arrow key moves the shape by .5 pixel at 200% and .2 of a pixel at 500%

Because of the mention of pixel nudge distances I assumed that we were talking about pixel nudge, i.e. Alt+cursor keys.

Only Alt+cursor keys use screen pixels and so work with zoom as I described. All the other nudge hotkeys will move the selection by absolute distances within the document regardless of zoom.

With you there Phil, but from reading Bob's initial post he didn't appear to know about Alt arrow key combinations so I was just trying to clarify it.

Thanks to all. I was aware of the ALT + Arrow, but I didn't realize I had to bump the magnification to 200%
