    Default PDF import

With XDP10 I can't import PDF files, instead it just shows as a placeholder, even though the document is set as a print document. Am I missing something? Any ideas much appreciated, thanks.

    Hi James

How are you trying to import the PDF file?

Try creating a new page then drag and drop the PDF into the new page.

Or Import > and you have to scroll past the PDF Placeholder and then select PDF.

I admit the Import menu has become a bit of a dog's breakfast.

Drag and drop only produces a placeholder, and in the File-Import route there is only the PDF Placeholder option and not the PDF only option.

on my system the PDF option is further down the list from PDF placeholder, [after RAW] - if it is not there at all then you can try the 'right click and run program as administrator' if you haven't already done that

Seems a bit silly having the PDF below a PDF placeholder.

Hopefully these XML files are still manually editable.

like gary said [in so many words] the import list is long and unwieldy in ver 10... I would certainly want to have the six or so I use most at the top - I counted ten clicks of 'p' to get to the pdf placeholder, and pdf import was click eleven

but there again I'm not seeing a problem importing a pdf by dragging

Thanks guys. Handrawn, run as administrator did the trick, before that RAW didn't appear in the list either.
BTW. The PDF importer has improved quite a bit.

So then why hide it down at the bottom of the list, eh?

@Steve J. Thanks for that suggestion.
